Paint on Burlap DIY to Create Valentine Banner

I'm working on my decorations for our Valentines party we are having in a few weeks! See how my new painted burlap banner matches my door decoration from last week

Here's how I made my banner...

First, the supplies!

Burlap Pennant
Anita's Acrylic Paint - Princess Pink
DecoArt Metallic Acrylic Paint - Venetian Gold
Gold medium tip paint marker from Tree House Studio paints
Gold 4mm Metallic Cord
2"x2 1/2" wood letters
Pink felt

I used the gold paint pen from Tree House to mark where I wanted to paint the gold border.

I filled in the border with the gold paint.

I painted the burlap with Princess Pink. It helped to dip my paint brush into a little water while filling in the pink to help it cover better.

I hung the banners on a hanger to allow them to dry throughly.

I cut the felt 4" x 3" to make a tab and sew leaving enough room for the trim.

I used a safety pin attached to the trim to pull the trim through the tab.

Then a glue gun to attach the letters.

I love the look and how all my decorations are coming together! Can't wait to show you what else I have planned to create!

Check back next week! Happy surfing, pinning, and creating!
